Based in Seattle Washington USA, he is the founder of the group working on Audiovisual Industry-related web portals. These portals are meant to serve as platforms for information, education, and networking.  Shah earned his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey in 1979. He worked as a practicing mechanical engineer and a lecturer in various countries. He also worked at Boeing in Renton, Washington. Shah got involved in the AV industry in mid-nineties and ran his own business. Shah also helped connect AV companies to form AV associations or regional basis and support each other.
